I ride a a 2009 Trek remedy that I have spent the last 6 months modifying and tuning. I have managed to get the bike to below 29lbs inc pedals and a reverb (which I'm really happy about). I use the bike for everything from all day XC jaunts through to DH but mainly for general trail riding. I have never been overly happy with my fork and have always quite fancied swapping out the rear shock, trouble is I would be on an extremely tight budget and certainly couldnt afford to just stick new fork and shock on the bike.
I have whittled down my options too........
Swapping out the Talas cartridge for a Float one in the fork thus making it a 2009 Float 36 160. I have always experienced stiction in the forks inital travel and am told this will help. This would mean I loose the adjustable travel however I do only use the 130 setting from time to time and never the 100. Also I still wouldn't get the benefit of lockout.
Buying a second hand DHX Air 4.0 and swapping it for my RP23 (pre boost valve)
What would you do in my situation???
