Rattle help (Hope hoop 3 + Shim M770)

Hi Guys,

Got a very audible rattle on my bike from the cassette and when I took the wheel off there is quite a lot of play in the smaller cogs of the cassette.

Unfortunately I didn't fit the cassette and never have so I'm not sure if there should be play or not?

If not would getting a tool to tighten it help or would I need spacers etc?

I really appreciate any advice you guys could offer me!!

The cassette is a shimano M-770 and the wheels are hope hoop 3's

Is the lock ring lose?
