Need a external hard drive, found this:

Yay or nay? Will I find better for the same price?

  • Enough of the spin already guys...

Kitty, more of a Hub question. Hard disks are still a little expensive right now due to the well publicised floods in Thailand that flooded the bulk of the hard disk manufacturers' production lines

That is not a bad price to be honest, but id you're not in a hurry wait a little, prices will come down further.
I bought a 1TB 2.5" WD portable HDD for £57 at Tesco in March last year

If you're in a hurry to buy one that little Hitachi isn't too bad at the price

Then grab it, the price isn't too bad at all.. plus it's a good, reputable and branded manufacturer

if you have a decent internet connection, try a cloud server backup or something. I have 500gb for £30 a year.

Most of them can be accessed from anywhere with an internet connection so one less thing to carry around.

Still working mine out though, I think it deletes stuff from my cloud when I delete it from my HDD??

edit: that's pretty cheap actually, buy it. if anything the warranty will cover it I think?

Kitty, more of a Hub question.
Many years ago Kitty was told not to leave the Sandbox. Now it is the Crudcatcher she still does not wander out much.

Have you got an old computer knocking about the house kitty? I've got a couple of portable drives that are just the hard drive our of an old computer in a hard drive case off ebay. I did it to keep all my old files, but you could write it then and stick stuff on it

I've just looked on Aria and they can't match that price.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

500GB, not enough for my porn.

Went with a NAS and 4TB all RAID. 4 1TB super speedy Spinpoint discs. Nerd-tastic.

(actually filling with my music collection and bunch of TV downloads amongst general junk).

I've only used them once or twice and never had to call on their customer services.

Not sure if this is too late or expensive but would 2TB be enough storage for £90?

Dumbass, why would you want 500gb for £30 a year when you could have 500gb for ONE payment of £40? That's not right!
