Hi, i am getting back into biking after too many years away and need to update my aging XTR m952 gear. I want to update it to XT m770, but cannot afford to splash out and buy everything at once.
So can i buy like the m770 shifters and use them with my current xtr mech? or get the xt mech and use with my current shifters? I guess i could wait a little longer and get both shifters and R mech.
Any thoughts?

as long as the speeds are the same then you can mix shimano stuff."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Nice, so shift distance from the levers is all the same etc? Mine is currently 9sp and quite happy to stick with that for the new xt stuff.0

M952 rear mechs are about the best ever made!0

As are the fronts, the parallelogram action on them was great.0

Yeah these mech's and actually the whole xtr set have done me so well, been raced and used to death, but getting time to replace me thinks.0
