Horton in Ribblesdale route?

Hi,
A very specific question here, but it's a popular area so....
I'm planning a group ride on this road here:
http://t.co/f4X9Wnfr
Everyone will be riding their best road bikes riding C2C in a day (not the official route). I know that some of the roads in the area can be a bit rough, to say the least (I've raced the 3 Peaks a few times!), but am trying to find out whether the road in question will be OK for our big weekend away.
Has anyone got any local knowledge?
Thanks,
Neil.

Hi Neil, link doesn't seem to work, were doing a C2C in a day in May, and was wondering if it's the same route were doing, any more details? All lies and jest..still a man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest....0

Thanks for the info. We'll need to re-route that bit, then.
The original plan was this - Morecombe to Saltburn, but it now needs a bit of tweaking. It takes in the Dales and the Moors

We did Morecambe to Saltburn last year. 6 1/2 hours, beautiful sunshine. I stayed over, but some rode back next day, into gale force headwinds. Not pleasant.0

I'd suggest you go to Ingleton, then make your way to Leyburn via Ribblehead and Hawes. Take the back road along Wensleydale0

according to the route you posted you're detouring up carlton bank near stokesley !!! you're more hardcore than me on a days c2cAll lies and jest..still a man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest....0

That's the route were taking, looks a sensible option to get over pennines to me, what's the road between ingleton and Hawes like? any idea of gradient? All lies and jest..still a man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest....0 -

Hmmm... we'll have to take a look at that a bit more closely, but I do wan't to get onto the Moors ...and if we describe it as 'hardcore' then everyone will want to do it. Maybe we could award polka dot jersey points to give a bit of added impetus0 -
Ingleton to hawes is just steady away. No steep bits.0

You can take the minor road out of Ingleton to Chapel le Dale (runs parallel to route) for around 3 miles, perfectly rideable on a road bike and no traffic.0 -
that's a nice looking alternative thanksAll lies and jest..still a man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest....0
