  • Yup, I'm in - stayed up late last night. Mrs G and I are making a holiday of it!

I'm doing it again this year.I've done the E2E in 2003/05 & 07 so I'm overdue a return, one thing that surprised me is how big it is now.I think 5 or 600 entries was the norm when I last did it.Have you seen how many have already signed on for this years E2E?!
  • It's over 1500 already. Its going to be slow working through the pack on some of the climbs.

I hope that they don't change the route to much. Especially the last hill to the finish.
  • I got in in time, In the past i've done it on my race bikes but this year I'm catching the Saturday lunchtime on the ferry from Heysham as a foot passenger and do the event on my Fat Bike and collecting for the Alzheimer's Society, http://www.justgiving.com/JohnClimber,
I'm selling time slots to my estimated finishing time and the person who "buys" the winning time slot will win over £400 worth or gear I've scrounged full details here http://singletrackworld.com/forum/topic ... rry-to-ask

Once registered the day before if it's dry I'll ride up to the start sleeping on the beach on the way, do the event and ride back to the late afternoon ferry back to Heysham.

See you over there, you may spot me, if you do say hello

did this last year - there were a lot of roadies who pitched up (identifiably shaved legs and full lycra) raced off at the start 4(?) miles on tarmac and then came unstuck on the first off road section which is steep and then very muddy and rutted, was off and pushing for ages mainly due to congestion. Loved the event and glad I did it.
Sunday on the IoM = shut, so plan ahead if you want a decent meal..seriously, even the chippy closed at 6pm!
  • MaDonalds in Douglas before the ferry it is then....
