went and did a few little runs on old pale(downhill) at delamere today, it was time to truly test out the urge enduro matic that i got for xmas and also to test out my new slx rear mech and my 2/8 set up. Now it was a really hard frost and all the little ruts were solid.
But on i went and the first run went well, bit sketchy in parts because of the ground but i managed to stay on.
Now on the second run i went a bit quicker hit a jump and landed well and got on the pedals then the front hit a rut threw me into a tree, which knocked me off the bike luckily i landed on my camelbak with a thud then my head hit the tree behind me.
I got up after a few mins and completed the run. Safe to say i was a bit shaken but laughed it off ,cant wait til my next day off now. ITs quite hard riding on a hard frost like that, anyone else had any good falls?
oh and the urge helmet saved me from a trip to hospital im sure of it.

nope! it just has a few scratches from the twigs, im just super glad it has the rear protection .0

If it hit the tree as hard as you say it did (to prevent a trip to hospital) then Bails is dead right, it's new helmet time.0

it was time to truly test out the urge enduro matic
Personally I hope that sort of thing never happens :?0 -
Crashes are why we ride! You're not a true mountain biker until you've sacrificed your own blood to the mountains. Not someone else's blood. That's a different hobby entierly. I think that hobby is what they discuss in the Crudcacher.0

i did mean in regards to comfort air flow etc btw its well worth the money. my riding style is a bit gung ho maybe time to chill a bit. maybe a full face helemt would be a better option.0 -
it was £45.00 before xmas 2012 model is £79.99 but yeah i will get the same one and maybe the urge down o matic to join it0

I have the down o matic and managed to get it for £69.00 on CRC before xmas, really good ventilation and not to heavy.
I would say invest in a skills course before you get a full face and you will probably find you don't need said helmet.0 -
good chance to see if urge have a crash replacment scheme, and if they do put it to the test..www.bearbackbiking.com
