Not sure if this is correct forum, but has anyone got any suggestions for overcoming iliotibial band friction syndrome? My riding is taking a back seat due to the pain and I'm desperate for a solution.

  • I've known people to use foam rollers to help with it but that's all I know really.

    May be worth Googling it.

Have you given any consideration to seeking the advice of a medical practitioner?

Ice it to get the inflamation down and stop the pain. Stretch it, roller it. Don't ride if it hurts.
Go see a sports therapist for some soft tissue work, they are a lot more hands on compared to a lot of physio's who don't always want to do soft tissue work.
It may be a muscle imbalance, weakness or tight muscles elsewhere. Also check your bike fits ok as it may be the cause of the ITB probs.
