Not sure if this is correct forum, but has anyone got any suggestions for overcoming iliotibial band friction syndrome? My riding is taking a back seat due to the pain and I'm desperate for a solution.

I've known people to use foam rollers to help with it but that's all I know really.
May be worth Googling it.0 -

Have you given any consideration to seeking the advice of a medical practitioner?0

Ice it to get the inflamation down and stop the pain. Stretch it, roller it. Don't ride if it hurts.
Go see a sports therapist for some soft tissue work, they are a lot more hands on compared to a lot of physio's who don't always want to do soft tissue work.
It may be a muscle imbalance, weakness or tight muscles elsewhere. Also check your bike fits ok as it may be the cause of the ITB probs.Weaseling out of things is important to learn. It's what separates us from the animals! Except the weasel0 -
