Some advice please.
Am I right in thinking that a short cage rear mech like this;
http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=27695
Will be fine for a 12-27 cassette like this;
http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=1094
Cheers.

Fot what its worth, shimano road mechs work with 27 tooth cassettes. You may be able to get a tiagra or 105 model cheaper than the 95 quid saint jobbie.0

What do you have on the front? Range is biggest-smallest front + biggest-smallest rear.I don't do smileys.

Only giving half the info will never get you an answer until everyone has ESP. fitted as standard."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

fwiw, I run a triple (road) 30/39/50 with 11-28 with a standard cage Ultegra. Hope that may help to confirm your question.0

Short cage X7 absolutely fine on a FS with a 36T chainring and 11-28 cassette. Also works fine on a HT with 32T chainring and 11-32 cassette.0
