Hi

Basically the freehub (shimano M475 rear hub) is grinding and clunking and generally sounds rough.

I stripped the hub of its cassette, bearings and axle and removed the freehub from the hub but I cannot see how the seal on the back comes off, Do i need a sharp implement to hook it out?

I did follow the instructions on bikerader upto the seal removal but am completly stuck now.

Thanks

  • Dont think you can strip it.
All you can do is buy a new one.

as far as I know shimano freehubs arent serviceable. once they break you chuck them away and get a new one (like you do with most shimano components)

the seal normally falls off. use a pick.
