Specialized do always seem to get good reviews. If you want something even better (IMO of course!) keep your eye on ebay at the mo. The Rapha winter sale means that the Pro team mitts will start to appear for half the normal cost, and they are superb in every way.
  • +1 for Rapha Pro Team Mitts - best you can get (IMO)

i would recommend 2 - Specialized BG mitts _ good palm padding, or Gore, which have 3 reflective ribs on the back of the hand for morning and evening riding safety

I have the gel and comp Spesh mitts and like them both (a few pairs in total...), I think last year's Gel ones have plastic around the vent hold in the thumb which I find really irritating and have pulled most of it off. Both those models have a lot of padding though and are the main reason I stick with Spesh gloves, if you prefer less padding then the Pro versions of Gore/Rapha are good options as others have mentioned.

Probably best getting them from shops - the fit can be funny. I don't think I've bought mitts for ages - my mate is very fussy about his gloves and he'll buy pairs, not get on with them and pass them onto me. Result !

I personally wouldn't touch Rapha if I were you. I have had good summer mitts from Castelli and Campagnolo, esp their 'Heritage' range. FWIW I am also very fussy with mitts, they have to be a nice tight fit for me.

Specialized BG Gel Mitts are pretty good, been using them since last year - no problems, would buy them again.

Rapha Grand Tour. Take a while to break in and very expensive, but unbelievably comfortable!
