Following Poker night, which, as expected, quickly descended into a night of innuendo and carnage, a conversation began about Reel Big Fish and consequently Baseketball, where to my surprise, half the people in the room said they had attempted playing it. (Not me.) Has anyone here had a go?

All I know is that despite having to make people with real jobs redundant the local council I have to work with has found £25k to employ some dildoheadedmonger to promote the sport across Suffolk.

I grew up in the town Michael Jordan played college ball in, and watched every home game for UNC at the Dean Dome for years. I love basketball, but havn't played in many many years.

i used to play it in school, i was quite good aswell, considering i'm only 5ft 9

I used to play baseline for the local team, i also broke my arm into pretty shapes after falling from the ring using my face and hand to break my fall.

Used to play up the local park as a teen and the work had a mixed team.

Tried it a few times, works best when at least slightly drunk, inevitably ends in psyche outs getting way OTT and then just pissing around.

Used to play it at school. Was one of the official PE games.

I was okay at it until I was overgrown by the other kids, then I was a short-arse and my basketball days were over.

Much the same with rugby. Was okay when everyone was small and weedy. Used to be speedy up the wing. Then the others turned into moving brick shithouses and I'd get the crap kicked out of me, so end of that game too.

Football I was just crap at anyway, so settled on cricket. Crap fielder and batsman but bowling was okay. Boring game to play though. Realised it's much better just watching it with beers. Then Sky came along and took away free cricket on TV, so end of that too (can't be doing with local cricket).
