Garmin Edge 800 maps

i received the edge 800 for christmas, my bundle had the cadence and heart rate monitors but only the basic map

looking on line there are lots of SD card map options (not sure the best one for me)
I need road cycling routes turn by turn
I also mountain bike so if possible i would like one to be able to plot track off road also

is there a map that does both (the city navigator and topo maps seem on the face of it to be either or)

anyone bought used the maps

If you want to see bridlepaths etc then the OS maps are your only option, I THINK they do turn by turn directions as well, but I'm not sure as I ve not used them before...
