Hi there, im looking to get a canyon ultimate al frameset and can't decide which size to go for, the canyon size calculator is giving me a 53cm. I have an inseam of 86cm and an overall height of 179cm, going by the competitive cyclist fit calculator i need a top tube length of 56cm which would relate to a size 56 or 58 al. i don't really know which to go for, can anyone help?

I didn't think canyon did a 53? Don't email the UK rep, he'll be no help at all.

    They do in the Alloy.
you ve similar measurements to me so Unless you ve very short arms? i would imagine the 56 is more like it (that is what i get out out when i put in similar data) perhaps check your measurements again?

I've got a 2011 AL and it does come up bigger than conventional sizes, maybe the 2012 bikes are more accurately sized.

I'm a road rider but recently bought a Nerve XC. I'm 6ft and the rep (very nice guy) suggested a large. After hours and hours trawling forums I finally found some consensus regarding size, which was that mediums were essentially somewhere between medium and large. I went for a medium (as did a 6ft friend) and the sizing for both of us is spot-on. I'd say persevere with the research and perhaps be even more specific with your post question.
I recently bought a Cinelli Pro Estrada off eBay. I have an S Works Roubaix and compared the geometries of both bikes. Perhaps compare the geometry of you current bike with the ones on the Canyon site.
