Hi guys I'm looking for a pair of Schwalbe Stelvio 700cc 23mm. I can only find them here http://www.planet-x-bikes.co.uk/i/q/TYS ... lding_tyre and there in blue! I'm not really into coloured tyres. Just wondering if anyone has stumbled across any in black, or if anyone could recommend any other make of tyre in similar price bracket that would do a better job. One person did mention continental gator skin???? Cheers in advance.

Gatorskins are a common commuter tyre. What are the roads like on your commute? If they're less than great, I'd go for something a bit tougher (Schwalbe Durano).FCN 2-4.

Stelvio has been replaced by Durano and Durano S (the latter is a bit lighter), that's why you won't find Stelvios in stock any more. There are loads of decent alternatives.Aspire not to have more, but to be more.0

I've got Schwalbe Durano Plus tyres on my commuter. They've been excellent - only one puncture in over a year of daily commuting on glass-strewn roads and tracks, compared to 2 or more punctures per month with the original Specialized tyres. I've just got Schwlabe Durano tyres for my summer bike, but haven't tried them yet.0

Yeah I find Blizzards good cheap tyres for commuting... I've bought the non folding ones for 6 quid in the past which is a brilliant price....Do not write below this line. Office use only.0 -
I tired some blizzards (blue) for a few rides including a 50mile and found them skitty - possibly the coloured compound. I have now bought conti gatorskins for my nice bike (loads of guys in the club use them) and schwalbe luganos for the commuter - can't comment though as havn't used either yet!0

I've got Michelin Trackers. Bit wider at 35C but very nice tyres. They have some puncture-resistant belt in them too.0
