Hi all
I am in the market for a new ride.My current bike a Dawes Tekarra is 8 years old and a bit tired now,so any advice would be appreciated.I have my eye on a specialized pro disc sport.Have anyone any info on orange bikes.
price i am looking at is around the £500.00 mark,i use the bike for commuting and weekend towpath runs with the odd bit of forest runs.
cheers

Standard advice in that price range is Rockrider from Decathlon or Carerra from Halfords.I don't do smileys.

Having read up on what is available for the money, there have been some cracking reviews on it . I have had the chance to test a few bikes out, plus it has a decent frame and fork set up so it would be worth upgrading the rest as and when needed.( waste of time upgrading items on a poorly designed frame)!0

Makes it a ruddy expensive frame!
Not a bad bike by any means, but not as good VFM as the suggestions.

hehe, Yeah I personally like the hardrocks, my friend has one and they are surprisingly light compared to other bikes at that price point...

My Kraken is sorted now it has upgraded forks, stem, bars, grips, shifters, wheels, tubes, tyres, chainset, shifters, font mech, rear mech, brakes, seatpost and saddle, it's had a new headset as well but it wasn't an upgrade!

I quite liked my Hardrock. It's only on this forum that they get bad reviews. They always come out on top in tests in MBUK & MBR etc.
I have just bought a Giant Talon for the wife & that is quite a lot nicer but it was £600 so a bit more than a Hardrock.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350
