Quantock Hills in Danger
Somerset County Council have announced their intention to sell off their land holdings on the Quantock Hills. The news has been met with widespread puzzlement, horror and disbelief, that after nearly a hundred years of safe stewardship by the County Council they should even consider giving it over to an uncertain future in private ownership. Public access is guaranteed on County County owned land, so the sale could have profound consequences for bike riders who ride on the Quantocks.
Particularly important at the moment is that the e-petition on the County Council's site should exceed 5000 signatures. That will enable the petitioners to ask for a debate at a full Council Meeting.

So if you have any interest in the Quantock Hills please take the time to sign.
