I fancy salmon today. Trouble is I had it once already this week (and herring, sardines and mackrel) and the week before so it's quickly becoming my go to fish.

I can't keep eating salmon, so I ask what fish is like (tastes like) salmon but isn't salmon?

I'm also a fan of seabass.

But the closest is probably tuna belly. Very specific cut found in sushi restaurants. De-lish-she-ous.

Salmon in what form though? And cooked how? Or not cooked at all?

Try this: take a salmon fillet, skinned. Chop finely, add some wasabi powder and soy sauce. Stir together. Pick up fork and devour. Om nom nom nom nom...

Try halibut. It's not pink and not as strong flavour but is very nice, firm and flakey in a similar way.

Try Rock Salmon, its a fine eat.

Alternatively lobster, langoustines, scallops - some of the best seafood in the world from up here, but the pity is most goes to the continent, where holiday makers have it and wonder why they dont get that at home. Grt it now before you have to pay a higher tax!

Does not compute. He's dry? He went swimming, got a lamprey latched onto one of his volume knobs and went to dry off and get dressed before posing for a photo?

How the hell did this descend into some American guy having a fish stuck on his chest, EKE's trainers and that Scottish Prime minister?

    Anyway:

If it isn't cooked I can't and won't eat it. Though I recently tried sushi... like that double dear where I pissed on a electrified fence...

I'm tempted to buy some very large tuna steaks and grill them bad boys.

Salmon is usually either grilled, jerked, curried (not heavily like goat) or cooked down.

    Trout is my GOTO fish.
I think that freshness is more important than species so look for whatever is in season.

    Currently:
brill, clams, cockles, cod, conger eel, crab, dab, dover sole, eel, haddock, halibut, hake, john dory, langoustine, lemon sole, lobster, mackerel, mussels, oysters, scallops, skate, squid, turbot, winkles

Wrap your salmon in a piece of parma ham and roast in the oven until just cooked. Simple but Om nom nom nom.

Only recently tried Kedgeree for the first time.....awesome stuff.
