Very stiff front mech.

It's a triple tiagra from about 6 years ago. Lots of effort to shift it - specially onto the big ring. I think it might be partly responsible for the demise of my last shifters (worn ratchet).

Any servicing to be done beyond lubing it? I give it a once over with GT85 once in a while.

Or I could throw £20 at a new one.

  • Take it off & give it a good degrease ( use brushes if needed ). Give all pivot points a good lube ( dry teflon type stuff ) wipe off all excess, refit it set it up then see if it works efficiently.
    Or if you do not like tinkering then £20 every six years can't really be grumbled about.
