What makes the Wiggle ones twice as expensive?

Ive been on a couple of the Evans ones and thought they were pretty good (its easier to tell the wife im ditching her and the nipper for the day if its organised).

Nothing. The evans ones even have super good deals on tubes etc at the starts (4 spesh for £10). Wiggle instead just double their prices.

If anything, I preferred the taste/effect of the wiggle juice. Perhaps they have more food at the stops and a mini showroom when you arrive at the start advertising GPS units etc, but if you like the look of the Evans ones, go for it.

Plus I think evans have a 3 for 2 deal on
  • I like both of them & have done quite a few of each. I find the Wiggle signing far far better, & as someone who doesn't have a gadget to download the course to, this is important. Feed stations both good, & general organisation is both excellent. I just choose the events i fancy doing & i can feasably get to in my car, don't really care who organizes it, as long as the course is good. AMR ones are good, but quite expensive though. I think where a lot of sportives miss out is offering breakfast. I'm sure it wouldn't be that hard to provide this before the start. A bit of porridge or toast for example.

The principal difference is that Wiggle can't be bothered to get off their fat lazy arses and run a sportive somewhere other than in Hampshire or Sussex..........

Not done a Wiggle one - if I'm going down that part of the world I'll do something like the Buggers Hill Rumble again rather than - but the Evans ones are always well run.
    Faster than a tent.......
  • Third way - stop paying to do sportives and join a club where for the price of joining and maybe a pound or two extra here or there you can do reliability rides, randonees, audaxes and even some racing and testing.

...which isn't a bad thing if you happen to live in east hampshire! :) Although they are getting further afield - there was one near Peterborough and one near Bath last year. Assuming you're talking about the Super Series rides, that is - Wiggle also seem to be involved with a couple of other sportive organisers that do more ride ranging rides.

Only been on one Evans ride, really not much difference between the two companies as far as I could tell. Signing was slightly better with Wiggle, can't remember if there was a goody bag at the end with Evans, but that's about it.
