Riding Tuition and Skills Courses?

Hi, Im looking for some riding tuition for myself and my girlfreind and possably some freinds before we go on holiday to the alps later this year and wondering what the forums thoughts on the matter are.
We are of mixed ability but all confident on the basics and have done some more advanced riding but feel we want some external tution on techniques. My girlfreind is also interested in riding with other girls of her abilty rather than always riding in an all male group.
Places like Oneplanet at Llandegla offer courses in 'core skills' and 'jumps and drops', including woman-only courses, but are they any good? Worth the money? Does anyone have any recomendations?
My other thought it to try and find someone on an less official level, either someone who adverised 'back yard' courses, or just a keen rider who is able to offer some us some of there time?
Im based in Stafforshire with others in manchester, cheshire, bristol and hampshire, so can travel if we can make a weekend of it. We are aged 23-26.
Thanks, Daniel

Ed oxley runs a "Alps prep" course set around Hebden Bridge http://www.great-rock.co.uk/courses/mor ... pine-prep/
and as Mojo says "Jedi" get lots of recommendations. http://www.ukbikeskills.co.uk/0 -
Ok, I have a freind in fleet (hampshire) who mentioned someone he might do a day with, so that might have been tony? Hebden bridge isnt to far from by girlfreinds either so will look into both. Might be able to get a group of 6 together an have a private session even.
Has anyone used Llandeglla?
Or anyone in the Cannock area?

+1 for Jedi although with any skills course I'd say the smaller the group and closer in ability you are to start with the better. I went with a couple of mates (bit better than me) and was good but I'd probably pay the extra and do it solo next time. Also you need to keep practising after, I've already slipped back into a load of old bad habits0

I'd put a vote in for Bikeschool at Cannock. They'll build a course around your requirments. Very happy with what I learned with them. How would I write my own epitaph? With a crayon - I'm not allowed anything I can sharpen to a sustainable point.
