Saddle Skedaddle and Exodus MTB holidays - any opinions?

Hi I have been looking at the Saddle Skedaddle mountain biking holidays. Has anyone been on any of these? How technical is the riding at the different levels? I have to say from the photos on the website a lot of them just seem to show people riding on quite wide tracks like fire roads rather than technical single track. I am not looking for anything too difficult as I have not been riding that long, but I would like something that offers a bit of a challenge (ie. some singletrack, maybe something comparable to the trail centres like Afan in terms of difficulty - so nothing too crazy but I don't really just want to ride easy, wide tracks all week either)

Also has anyone done any of the Exodus mountain biking holidays and again does anyone have any opinions as to the difficulty of these?

Also just any other opinions in general of these holidays would be welcome.

Thanks

  • I did the Exodus 'Atlas Descent' and it was great.Mainly their backroads which are all dirt/rock, some quite technical, generally v.varied and interesting. You see the 'real' Morocco, this is a group holiday which is great, everyone on my trip was a 'single' except one fathr and son. Ages 25 to 7o. Unlike their non cycling trips the picnics that were prepared by staff ahead were great. They also have a mid am and mid pm snack break. There were a few hills, some of which I walked up, but generally a downhill bias with most days a vehicle uplift to start the day. This trip runs most weeks of the year, nicer to get away in our winter.I'm wondering about trying either their Vietnam or Cuba one next.If you suffer from boredom like me, I can recommend Exodus for 'never a dull moment' Have been on their non cycling hols (with wife) to Peru and India/Nepal too. For the odd guided ride (free) on a with wife Devon holiday try 'selfcateringnorthdevon.com' cottages.

I have done a couple of UK breaks with Skedaddle - both well organised and friendly. I would book again and am looking at the Andalucia in Spain across Portugal to the Atlantic one way ride as an option.

Kinetic-One FK1 roadie - the fast one - hairy legs though!
Cannondale Jekyll Lefty MTB - the muddy one which keeps tipping me into gorse bushes!
