Hi i picked up my new gt sensor on saturday and duly took it for a beasting round the black run at llandelgla yesterday . Upon cleaning the bike last night i noticed hydraulic fluid seeping out around the rebound adjustor on the top of the forks which are suntour raidon lod air .

The forks have lost all suppleness and basically feel as if tunred the lockout switch.

I was expecting them to last longet than 15 miles of hard ridiing ive took the bike back to the shop and they ve said they may have to be replaced under warranty.

I was wondering whats caused this or whats happened as i assume one leg of the fork has the air in and the other a coil and oil ?

One leg is the air spring, the other is the hydraulid damper unit, with rebound adjust and lockout (usually), no coil.

may be a dodgy seal causing the leak, it happens, that won't cause them to 'lockout' though....

    Probably just a manufacturing fault.

Accept the replacement, ride them, occasionally lube the stantions, service as and when needed, they should be fine.

    should be repairable

happened to me when i bourght the demo did half a day in the bikepark and the fork was leaking fluid from the mission control, shop sorted it after a bit of argueing ...
was something to do with the seal.

Bike shop got back to me today they wont even try and repair them as its a new bike so its a warranty issue, they've sent the forks off and said should be a week to get new ones back and on.
Im a bit worried about the longevity of them but i suppose im covered for the next year anyway .

When you get them, sell them and get something you feel more confident about.

I did think of that problem is ive just spent £750 on a new bike and havent any more money to put towards others plus if i spend more money could cost me a whole lot more in the divorce courts !!

Im gonna use and abuse them for the next year till the warranty runs out and by then should be able to slip a couple a hundred past the missus for some nice air rockshox

I wouldn't invest in new forks, not so quick. See how will the new ones hold up.

Yep, the first pair were probably a one off. It has to happen to someone

The replacements should be fine, if they're not then they're covered under warranty.
