Short reach brakes with more clearance

Hi,
Bit of a long shot but I wonder if anyone knows which short reach brake calipers have relatively more clearance for fitting mudguards. I'm trying to fit Crud RR Mk2s to my Ribble New Sportive. It seems there is plenty of clearance under the front fork but the Campag Athena skeleton calipers seem to be significantly reducing that clearance. I was wondering whether the non-skeleton Veloce might have more clearance or whether they are likely to be dimensionally the same.
Cheers

I think I've answered my own question while browsing Ribble. Noticed the SRAM Apex calipers looked pretty low profile and they claim clearance for up to 28c tyres. Anyone aware of any compatibility issues using Campag levers and Apex brakes?0
