Howdy,

Need to replace the headset on my GT 09 XCR and before ordered the incorrect one (again) thought I would check with the experts.

Can you confirm my model uses an semi integrated headset and if any one has any recommendations that would be great!

Thanks

Hard tail (Aggressor?) XCR or full sus I-Drive 5 XCR?

The 2009 ID5 XCR takes a standard external 1 1/8" headset. I don't know about the hard tail.

    Oops. Hardtail.

The cups sit flush with the frame and the bearings sit in that so I am assuming that is semi integrated? (stupid question I know).

    Sounds semi-integrated, but a photo tells a 1000 words.

To be honest on that bike at that age it will either be external or SI, unlikely to be anything else.

Bit of heli tape on the headtube might be a good idea.

Bit of stuffing, nice roast spuds and gravy is a good idea too. With the chicken that is.

Semi integrated, but would help if you took the conical spacer off the top so we could see it properly!

Once they stop laying, you won't want to chew that shoe leather!
