Which race wheels?

Hello
I'm looking for some wheels for road racing (3rd cat).
Currently looking at either Shimano RS80 or the new Planet X 52mm carbon clinchers http://www.planet-x-bikes.co.uk/i/q/WPP ... r_wheelset
Which is better for racing - the lighter weight of the Shimanos, or the aero advantage of the deep rim on the Planet X? Anyone tried the Planet X wheels yet?
Or any other suggestions? £400 max budget
Thanks all
N

Unless you're planning any long solo breakaways the aero wheels won't be of any benefit. More beneficial to have light and stiff wheels so you can join in with the sprint at the end of the race.Norfolk, who nicked all the hills?

Who wouldn't have aspirations of a solo break or at least a break with 2 or 3 other riders?More problems but still living....0 -
In answer to the OP - get the ones you like the look of best or the ones that you can get the best deal on. Neither will win or lose you races.More problems but still living....0

True and I'm only commenting from personal experience as my best hope of coming anywhere is in the sprintNorfolk, who nicked all the hills?

If you want something for bunch racing then reliable braking trumps aero. Get something with an alu brake track, not carbon.0
