V Brakes - Question

Hello
My faithful commuting steed is currently a Specialized Sirrus. I've just got new wheels for it (Shimano 501s - the old ones are battered).
I have a question on the brakes though - does anyone know whether you can replace V brakes with normal road brakes and if so is it worth it?
Many thanks.

V-brakes and "road" brakes have different mountings - you would most likely have to drill your front fork and rear bridge (if it exists) to take road calipers. Probably also have to replaced the levers (see Sheldon Brown for a long discourse on mechanical advantage).
Sounds like probably not worth it0 -
ah OK - many thanks!0
