Building up a 2008 Giant Glory. Have 83mm Truvativ ISIS bottom bracket & Ruktion cranks but even with a couple of spacers can't get the cranks to clear the chain stay. Can't workout if spindle length of BB wrong, wrong type crankset etc.
Any help appreciated!

    What spindle length is it?

And the cranks do NOT say howitzer on them do they?

  • Measuring it while on bike but looks approx 128mm total length & approx 100mm between bases of splined sections.

Yep Ruktion on crank arms & Howitzer on bit that hold chainring.

Then you need a howitzer BB not an ISIS one. They are not compatible. ( or new cranks).

  • Ah nuts! Thanks for the help though. Are ISIS compatible cranks a different shape to allow clearance of the frame? Or is a Howitzer BB longer? Chain stays seems very wide for width of bottom bracket.

Building this up for the young lad - I'm more used to "normal" proportioned bikes!!

Totally different other than the spline patten.

  • So would any ISIS compatible cranks be suitable?

    With that ISIS BB yes.
