OT Blackberry set up

Ok, I'm not getting very far with this of my own accord so perhaps some techy type people around these here parts might be able to help
I have a blackberry curve 8900 which I have just updated to OS 5 and I seem to have lost the ability to connect to my wi fi and set up e mail. I have also lost Blackberry App world although my desktop softwear says it exists on my device. I also can't access the internet through the browser as well.
It;s on o2 Pay as you Go so I'm wondering if there might be something to do with that.

If you've upgraded the operating system you might have to re-register it for blackberry services.
Goto options (the spanner) then device, then advanced system settings, then host routing table. Now press the blackberry key (left of the scroll button) and select register now.
There will be some reading this that think I'm taking the p@ss but I'm not.0
