full suss suggestions £1400

Mate is after a new bike, he wants a full suss and has been looking @ this http://www.leisurelakesbikes.com/produc ... ?&id=17902.
I suggested taking a look @ the canyon nerve xc but its not floating his boat.
I don't know much about the manitou fork and shock on the cube, any good?
Any other suggestions in that price range?
Riding is getting towards the aggressive end of xc, I think with the new bike he might be trying a few small jumps and drops. Lee and cragg quarry and llandegla black, gisburn are regular routes.

Is a good all rounder and will take the drops and jumps when he decides he is ready, they climb really well too.

handles drops and aressive riding fine, good for black graded trails and off piste fun, shreds well going down too
