A few of us are planning Wales in the summer for 3-4 days. Is it worth going from north to south during that time or staying in the north or south? How long to travel from say coyd y brenin to cwncarn?
We like most things, and have hard tails, trail bikes and dh bikes? Which to take? All? Where is worthwhile in our time frame. Cost of accommodation is not really a problem, but were not needing swanky places, but near to a days riding would be good as dont want much travelling of riding days!
Thanks

i would go north OR south, communications between and south wales are not great.

if you go north and stay in snowdonia then coed y brennin and penmachno are great. fit in all-day epic natural loop one day and an early ascent of snowdon (get to the top for sunrise and you shopuld compy with the volentary ban) gives 4 great rides in as many days
  • Thanks for the help so far. That confirms my thoughts. Ie: north OR south. Just gotta figure out what suits us best!

check out: www.mbwales.com, it'll help with your choice.

everyone keeps saying that getting from north to south is a PITA but it's ok if you break it up, say start at coed y brenin, stop at mcllynllyth (sp?) and nant yr arian on the way down south that way the maximum drive is only about 2 hours.

i have driven to coed y brenin in just under 4 hours and to llandegla in only just over 3 hours inthe past.

I'd go north or south as well i must admit,

And in terms of which i'd say noth as there are more easily accesable marked trails,(not more trails may i say)
