Looking to buy a set (possibly) due to the low quoted weight of under 1600g and the price so has anybody out there used them and have any comments on whether or not they're heavy on maintenance, easily damaged, made of cheese etc?

They'll be used for light duties only by a 14 stone idiot , no jumping, rocks or mountains.

I had some Controle SLs for a couple of years, after which they were pretty trashed. A couple of big dents in the rims, I broke a couple of spokes plus a couple of nipples, all others seized. Not to mention bearing life of less than 10 hours (not an issue on the other Controls). Used some (significantly lighter and cheaper) hand builts this year, using lighter rims, and they've proven more reliable.

If it's a good price go nuts, I got mine on a bike, but I'd not buy them after market personally.

They're £190, which is quite tempting.
