Sun Ringle Ryde XMB stiff front wheel

Hi all, having a bit of a problem with the front wheel on my MTB. The wheelset is Sun Ringle Ryde XMB. I took my bike out of the shed after not having used it for a couple of months and the wheels were not spinning freely. Couldn't back pedal with out the chain slackening up on the rear but I managed to get this loosened out with a clean, think the dry lube had got a bit sticky from not being used. The front wheel is a bigger problem, it wouldn't spin more than 1 maybe 2 revolutions when pushed. I took it off and had a look and the bearings don't seem to be spinning freely at all. Got the seals and locknuts off and wiped out any grit which improved it a bit but its still not spinning as freely as it should. The bearings are cartridge type and I'm not entirely sure what I need to do to service/ clean out the hub. Was gonna bring it to my LBS but figured I'd post on here first to see if anyone could inform me on anything I could do myself to free it up first. Any advice is appreciated.

Replace the bearings - should be a code on them.I don't do smileys.

Would bearings typically stiffen up like that from not being used? Also is there a tool I need to remove the bearings? Like I said, was gonna pop it down to my LBS but if its something I could manage myself I'd rather go that route and know what to do myself next time it happens.0

sounds like either you have had a jet spary near them of it is not the bearings but the brakes?"Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Definitely not a jet spray, always wash the bike by hand after use. Not the brakes either, front disc rubs a small bit normally but nothing major. Took the wheel off the bike and its still not spinning freely.0 -
Is it the bearing or disc rub stopping the rotation?0

Its not the disc rubbing off the pads as I've taken the wheel off and spun it on its own and the bearings seems stiff. Disc has always rubbed off the pads a tiny bit which I've never been able to fully eliminate, but its not enough to stop the wheel spinning properly0 -
THat's not really the correct test.
Take the caliper off so there can be no rub (if IS take the whole bracket off so you don't have to set the caliper again). Tighten the wheel as if you're about to ride and see how the wheel spins.0
