Surly Pugsley and other fat tyres

Im moving to Scotland shortly and whilst in North Berwick recently I saw a group of riders on fat tyres - probably Surly bikes.
Where can I actually see one of these bikes? Ive tried their Dealer network but no bike shop holds stock.
If there are a group of you in the East Lothian area with these bikes Id like to get in touch and get the skinny on the fatties - if you know what I mean.

No idea about were you can find one but I have ridden one that Ed oxley has testing,
They feel smooth, soak up ever bump and just seem to glide along the trail, bit weird at first but nice to ride and different, turn heads when your wizzing around, Ed was getting air borne on it seemed to cope np.0 -
it seems that they are not available as a full bike in the UK only as framesets.

I would drop Ison a mail to ask if they can point you in the correct direction."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

I was looking at building a Pugs the other year. Lost my bottle at the last minute though as it was getting more and more expensive all the time.
As Nick says, you can't buy complete off-the-shelf builds here in the UK. Howver, if your LBS deals with Ison (mine does) you could probably get them to price you up a build. Make sure you use a dealer who has a good wheelbuilding service, and make sure they have a jig big enough to actually do the job.
Ison have a Dealer locator so you can see your nearest local dealer.
It'd also be worth venturing over to The MTBR Fatbikes forum and asking some of the guys there. There are quite a few Scots on there so they'll likely be able to help.
I will just say though that fatbikes are not for everyone. You should definitely try one before splashing out. Not sure where you are right now, but Bothy bikes in Aviemore have a demo Pugsley you could try.0 -
Bit of a trek for you but http://www.charliethebikemonger.com/demo-bikes-14-w.asp have a demo fat bike or two0

Think you probably saw Coastkid then, he loves his beach riding... I think maybe Mark from thebikechain has one as well, they sell full builds. I'd nip on over to STW and ask there were I you, quite a lot of Edinburgh/area folks and we've had a wee contagious outbreak of fatbike recently.Uncompromising extremist0

There are a few of us around, I'll be on mine tomorrow Formby to Southport and back which is quite close to you.
I'll be riding it at Hit the North next Saturday which is in North Manchester

Let me know if you want a test ride.
PS it would have been Coastkid, hell we even had a Gathering last September
