What stem for my carrera fury?

Hi there i have been looking into shortening my stem on my carrera fury 2010 model,the white one.Would like to try something cheap just to see if i notice any difference as i feel streched out on the bike at the moment.The bike has a 100 mm stem at the moment and i was thinking of trying one 80mm . I have crc voucher and was wondering could someone point me to one that would fit my bike as im not sure of the angles etc.

Loads of options but you want 1 1/8 and I presume your bars are 31.8mm, shorter stem will help if you feel stretched also you don't say if your current stem is 0 degree or angled,

Thanks yes bars are 31.8 and there is a slight angle on the stem, just not sure what degree it is.Although the angle on the one i have seems fine.

anyone know the angle or this stem ? can't seem to find any info on it. thanks

order some spacers to (if you aint all reay got any knocking about) you may find you will need to add or remove spacers if you change the stem.. depending if the new stem is bigger or smaller...

i found this when i changed the stem on both my bikes i had to add a spacer to get the topcap to preload the bearings... lucky i had some in the shed otherwise i would not of been able to ride that day.
and my other bike the shop fitted the bars and stem there and then in the shop so he just grabbed a spacer out the workshop for me.

Stems are a pain to get right. See if you can borrow a couple and see which suites you best.
