on one scandal 29er
Built up with bits off my old 26" and some ebay item resulting in a super cheap build that i'm pretty happy with
Dt swiss fork, thompson bits are my highlight, don't really like the crank bros wheels but for £100 I couldn't get anything better.
i haven't weighed it but would guess at about 23lbs
apologies for the crap photos

Lovin the wheels , I think less spokes look cool0

I am so in lust with this bike!0
-
last night was its first outing and it is awesome!
so fast and i can still bunnyhop, manual and jump it, something I couldn't do on other 29ers i've tried.
Oh and it weights 22.5lbs so the lightest mountain bike i've owned so i'm pretty happy with it
As for the £100 wheels i have kind friends!0 -
Find me a friend with a front 29 wheel! :P
Happy Riding!0 -
after a few weeks riding everything is going well, need to put new bearings in the wheels but other wise spot on.
Not bad for a budget bike and built in under an hour!0 -
Looking good pete!
I love my wheels, you'll struggle to find a better set for stiffness and weight without getting into mental money.
the scandal i had was a 16" which was slightly too small for me but it was always fast, and they are seriously light!
are you going to be doing the MSG races?0 -

Still undecided but ill probably will do a few.
Trouble is timings now as moved up to the 2hr category, it wastes a whole Sunday instead of just the morning.
If plans develop as I hope through the year I should have a HT too to race on, certainly by next winter with rigid forks.
I have a pair of marzzochi 80mm Marathon sl forks spare if you want to try some squashyness at the front.0 -
thanks for the offer but i have a pair of rock shoxs to use, but the carbons are super comfortable0
-
Never tried a fully rigid 29er but its gotta be better than a 26 version0

I expected this bike to be really harsh but its not at all, the forks flex something crazy (in a good way!)
look forward to testing it on the rocks come summer time0
