These have done me OK for the last 2 winters. Not cheap but good. If you use road pedals you want the Fahrenheit model. If you want warmer then get the Arctic version.

    +1

I have diabetes, and as such, bad circulation, so I suffer with cold feet, these boots are the only things I have found that keep my feet warm.
I have done many sub-zero rides with a sinlge pair of socks and these boots, not a sign of cold feet

Wooly Boolie socks, shoes which are large enough to accommodate them, and some neoprene overshoes.

    Toast-tastic!

Are you using clipless pedals? These have a big heat sink on the sole. If you want to use them, get oversized shoes and a really good non-compressible insole such as cork.
You always need larger sizes in winter to fit thicker socks.
Wear good insulation on your legs

Yes, you'll probably have to suffer. I've covered it all (Northwave Celcius, Woolie Boolies, snowboarding socks, very thick overhoes, plastic bags etc...) and the obvious above suggestions and still my feet are cold. I suspect that any passive approach isn't going to work - heated insoles are the obvious next step (but not the bonkers priced Sidi ones).

Believe me, you don't have bad circulation!

I went down the Northwave boots route they didn't work for me either.

Tried all of the above apart from heated insoles one thing that does work is getting of the bike and walking up and down for ten minutes to get the blood moving again.

PRO NPU Tarmac overshoes are really good
    Woolie Bollies are great !!
Tape over the vent holes in the sole of your shoes.
Loosen your shoes slightly, as the socks will probably be thicker and if you have your shoes too tight, you could end up cutting off hte circulation.

Cheers, I'll be sure to tell my diabetes nurse that some random dude on an internet forum said I no longer have bad circulation

All I'm getting at is that if a pair of socks and Northwave Celsius boots is enough to keep your feet warm in seriously cold temperatures then if you do have poor circulation, you are lucky that cold feet aren't a symptom of it. Clearly they stay warm very effectively.

I would dearly love to be able to get away with such a lightweight combination at this time of year. To me, you are up with the crazies who are still wearing shorts!

It's all relative of course but you have it very easy indeed. I envy your circulation (in warm feet terms!)

First winter riding here, goretex socks and thermal socks.
Both need to be completely dry and warm.
Feet are toasty but you need a decent amount of space in the shoes to get it all in.
