Hi all,

Just bought a Shimano XT crankset second hand to upgrade from my heavy Step up crank set.

But unfortunately is a 22/32 double.. I would prefer a triple, but the outer chainring is like £70 on it's own!!!

I already have a 42T Shimano LX outer chain ring..

Does anyone know the weights of these outer rings? will it effect it too much if I put the LX chainring on?

Also there is the issue of strength too..

just fit it it will be fine. You may need longer chain ring bolts if there was no bash fitted.
