Installing Deore Hollowtech II Bottom Bracket and.....

the installation instructions say to tighten the end cap to between 0.7 and 1.5Nm.

The lowest my friendly mechanic has a torque wrench for is 3Nm and I have been reliably informed that over tightening this cap can cause the BB to fail very quickly.

What does 1Nm feel like? Hand tight? Just snug?

Any advice gratefully welcomed.

All you are doing is preloading the bearings. So just snug it up. And maybe adjust later if needed.

like nic says it's just to preload the bearing, it only needs nipping up slightly to eliminate play..

intresting video to watch. especially the last 2 mins.
