I'm thinking of trying the Kielder 100 later in the year and want to get out for some good rides before spring. Does anyone fancy meeting up for some no faff, longish, not too slow evening or weekend rides? I'm based in Manchester but would travel to Llandegla for an evening ride no problem as long as it was a decent session.
cheers

Why degla?
would Gisburn not be closer?, 2 loops of that is around 20miles0 -
mtfu, and hit the townley loop.. this will seperate the men from the boys or fit from the unfit..
and give you some good training for your kielder 100.... probably best hitting on a weekend though.www.bearbackbiking.com

the loop is around 46 mile with a fair amount of climbing in it.. you can start it from many different places.
loads of info on google about it...

Also I seem to remember Gisburn being extremely good fun in the daylight so might be too fruity for a night ride. 'Degla on the other hand just about gets bearable with the added interest of not being able to see where you're going...
It can be but thats the fun!!0 -

Trust me if i can survive a night ride at Gisburn, you should find it no problem. Its even better at night. Speeding down Bottoms in the dark will forever be etched on my memory. Just wish i could get there more often0 -

Went out Friday night from Hayfield. Did a couple of laps of the shooting cabin/Lantern Pike route. Was awesomely cold but amazing riding. The ground was completely rock solid frozen and it was easy to differentiate the ice from the dry ground and rock.
Not so easy on Saturday however when we tried to do the Jacob's ladder route, ended up bailing out and heading down to Kinder Reservoir then back up to the shooting cabin again. That steep sandstone cobbled path along the wall just by the reservoir is just great, complete lung buster.
Anyway, anyone up for a ride this week?0
