Hey guys, so me and my mate are planning to get away for 3 days or so and go mountain biking.
We live in HUDDERSFIELD, west Yorkshire so we don't want something that is too far away, 2 hour car journey or there abouts...
Have you guys got any suggestions?... ive been looking at sherwood forest trails? not sure. Wherever it is it needs to have somewhere to stay nearby, camping most likely..
Thanks guys, ryan

No! Stay away from Sherwood Pines! Don't ever come here. I lived in Huddersfield and now the Pines is my only ride with a sub 1.5hr drive.
Why not go West, hit Llandegla at Chester for an afternoon then continue to Snowdonia. Your choices there are some nice natural and mountainous trails (Moel Elio for instance), Snowdonia to tackle a proper mountain and big descent, Marin for a thought free ride or for a tougher technical trail, the one just south of Marin that I can't remember the name of just now.0 -
Okay so sherwood can be erased from the question what about Gisburn? Google maps say that it is only 1hr 27mins away and the videos ive watched of it are very appealing i must say. Were after hitting some xc trails such as the likes of gisburn rather than covering mountainous terrain. But thanks for your reply0

Have to say that Llandegla is a great day out! I'm sure that Snowdonia isn't too far away from there either.0

Would you say Llandegla is better than Gisburn? its going the opposite way so couldnt do them both.. say if we went for 3 days, which would give us the best experience?0
