Hi there, new to mountain biking and after some tyre advise. Just wondering what is a good general purpose tyre I do a bit both on and off road. Any advise is a big help cheers

  • Don't take offence at the lack of response. Your question is like many on here, raised often and well documented. Put tyre in the search facility on here and you will find loads of info'. Always worth getting advice in your LBS if you have a good one nearby. Personally, I have used Kenda Nevegal 2.1s and Panaracer Fire X Pro 2.1s both of which have served me well in all conditions. Everything is a compromise though, there are no tyres that are the best on every surface and different riders often prefer different tyres depending on their bike/riding style/where they ride...

What sort of off road, I have used my commuter on 26x1.5" slicks on gravel paths just fine!
