Best under lid hat?

Just got back from a walk on the quantocks as my gammy knee wont let me ride at the moment. I was very grateful for my hat as my ears were toasty warm. As I intend to go back in the not too distant future on my bike, I got to thinking about how I would keep my ears warm under my lid - my current hat would be too thick.
Are there any specific items out there or is it a case of finding something that works for me?
Cheers!

Used a Helly Hansen wicking skull cap today for the first time. It was freezing this morning but the HH was comfortable, warm and didn't get wet or too hot. Didn't even notice it under my helmet. Recommended.0

A Buff... No contest...
as it can also double as a scarf and also a face-mask, wicks sweat well also... I have 2 and use them for snowboarding and MTBing ( Used one in -27 C) and it worked really well then ( thank god ) and also in the summer for a dust mask on those dry trails...Always remember.... Wherever you go, there you are.

i use a headband that has bits that come down to cover your ears, you can get them for about £8 from any outdoor shop0

I have some thin Endura thing that I wear, covers the ears up nice, is windproof, and decently warm, but not overly warm once you really get hustling.
Check your lbs and see what they've got.0 -
