Mudguards for a new Canondale Synapse?

Hi,
I'm a commuter and have just invested in a new Cannondale Synapse 105...comes on tuesday, very exciting!
One thing I neglected to do on my current commuter is fit proper mudguards, thinking I need to add these to the Synapse to protect the bike more than me, just wondering if any Synapse owners have any fitted and if so which ones?
Pictures would be great, my hope is that they don't take away from it's good looks!
