Greeting All! I've finally narrowed my choice of entry level road bike down to 2, but now I'm at the hardest part: deciding which one to buy! Hopefully you can help?

I'm on a limited budget and want to buy local, so here's the narrowed down list:

2010 Specialized Allez Double (£295)

2011 Fuji Roubaix 3.0 (£425)

The choice would easily be the Fuji if that Allez wasn't so crazy cheap. I'm hesistant to pull the trigger on it, though, since it has the cheaper components (2300s vs Soras).

I'm planning to use this bike for a half ironman, plus lots of commuting and distance riding, so I want a durable bike that I'll enjoy. I'm not going to spend the extra £100 for 105's, so I want the best for my money now. What are your thoughts???

If you want a durable bike, for a lot of riding.. isn't it worth spending more than that?

You can't really expect that much from a sub £500 bike... i would go for Sora though.

Gotta be the Spesh! The frame will last forever and even if you have to replace all the 2300 stuff with Sora, if you do it from e-bay it'll only cost about 80 quid.
