Mini Pump, Where do you keep it?

Bit of an odd question..
But where do you keep your mini pump while out on the trails?
I used to keep my old one in my saddle bag.. But since buying a new set of wheels, I now have Presta Valves, and my old pump never connected well..
I just bought a new pump. ( Topeak Master Blaster DX ) which is slightly too long to fit in my saddle bag..
i'm a bit dubious however of putting it on my frame... does anyone put theirs on their frame? and do u get problems with catching it??

ouch!
Was thinking of bring my SLR to cannock but dont wanna risk falling off an breaking it. I think the body would be okay, but dont the lenses have delicate springs in them?0 -
Will be fine. Mine's taken reasonable tumbles both on the bike and skiing. SLRs are robust bits of kit and generally the lenses are too. They're made for slinging about and rough use. There's a spring loaded shutter mechanism in the lenses but it's not a really delicate component.
Fits in my HAWG fairly snugly which has a fair amount of padding at the back plus the bladder acts as padding, and I usually have stuff in the front or around the camera that pads it. Never a scratch on it and despite OTB moments it's been fine.
Compact on the other hand - shattered LCD, and that was in a padded bag.
Anyway +1 to pump goes in the HAWG along with everything else.0 -
my nikon body survived this tumble it was the lens that died. the lens was attatched to the camera at the time of the accident, after the accident it was no longer attached to the body it snapped clean off.. lucky the lens (a shitty nikon kit one) was the weaker part that broke..
i have my canon stuff insured but found it hard to get it insured when out on the bike, by using pelicases (the type the bbc ect use) i could get it insured to take out when biking...
i always have the camera and lenses in peli cases when out on the bike.. and at home when stored.

i have these 2 for the 7d and canon lenses.

I've got a Camelbak, hydration pack goes in one pocket; spare tube, pump, multitool, snacks, and various other small parts go in the main section, and the small section is reserved for wallet/ money and spare phone, and headphone pocket is for GPS enabled phone.0

put it on your frame and you can forget about it until the day you get a puncture be it next week or next year.0

Probably something like that when I had my crash earlier in the year onto my head. I'm guessing as I don't remember. Think that's what bust the compact (definitely what bust the back).
That's what keeps me off those skinnies though, of that height anyway. Lost balance and it's a nice tumble.0 -

And no - stuffing your tyres with leaves/grass doesn't work (well not with super tight beads anyway) :roll:0 -

I have noticed lost pumps scattered on the trails around every bend ..... NOT
Some people have yet to discover what that little velcro strap is for on the pump holder.0 -
To be honest, the strap on my pump look pretty nuke proof. I thought it would stick out and catch various things, but it seems pretty ow profile once fitted...Always remember.... Wherever you go, there you are.

Since I started using a frame bag for everything else for most rides, I strap the pump to the top tube.0
-
I keep all my bits in my hydration pack as attaching them to the frame means they get covered with whatever skank I am riding throughWhether you're a king or a little street sweeper, sooner or later you'll dance with the reaper.

Usually CO2 pump and canisters in the saddle bag for when the weather's crap (always) and now carrying mini pump as a backup in the hyration pack pushed to one side so that it doesn't get broken when I come off.0
-
In my camelbak, along with bladder full of water, phone, wallet, keys, bars, multitool. Might as well keep the pump in one hand and a spare tube in the other with the number of punctures I have had lately1 :twisted:0
