Greetings Maggots,

Early night last night, so up before the roosters today, but for a reason as I am off to Surrey today, then to Essex Police HQ to see the digital forensics department.
Way too early for this, but the weather seems good and I'll be heading home earlyish anyway, so bonus.

I will be inhaling massive amounts of strong coffee whilst on the road today, so let me get cracking

Windy start to the day here! I thought we'd done with all this. Ah well. More fun at work planned, trying to buil up servers. Wooo.
Possibly going out for a drink with Hot Librarian later, but she's had a shoot night's sleep according to facebook so not sure now.

  • Morning all, been up a few hours as usual, but about to get myself dressed and head out for the first ride on the Soul. Got a nice little route planned, and going to test out Endomondo as well. Hope the battery even lasts as long!

    Enjoy your morning everyone.

Back for another day with Welsh Brent, a nice guy but he don't half waffle on company speak and love it and as a treat i get to have a go on a train simulator today woohoo, that will be fun

At lest my new PC is coming today, I hate using a laptop. I do enjoy Steph McGovern on bbc breakfast with her big square head, like a businesswoman version of Kirsten O'brien

So you turn up late and stop working if you encounter any leaves?

    's up.
At work, fecking hate half the people I have to share the office with as they whine ALL THE FECKING TIME about everything and nothing the miserable harpies.
Day of "fun" ahead no doubt but tasty chicken and fresh baked bread for noms tonight and a bit of heresy so it's all good in the long run.

Cunt of a flatmate has gone into the shower, he's been in there for the past 20 minutes, he's got 2 more minutes before I turn the hot water off, I really need a piss.

Busy day at uni today, lectures, labwork, prodding animals, the usual really.

Same shoot, different day for me.
One step closer to the weekend though. Planning on having a conversation with MrF about doing a season next winter, because... If not now, when?

If you pulled that off I'd be very jealous.

    Anyhow, morning Starfish Troopers,

Just about to stick the bike in the car and head for Bedgebury for a couple of laps a bacon butty. Have heard its not too bad and the weathers still holding so may not need the snorkel. C'yall later :-)

, then to Essex Police HQ to see the digital forensics department.

Useless fact of the day - I used to live on Mountfield Avenue backing on to the Police HQ.

Morning chumps, today is meh. Some idiot decided to hold a meeting at 3pm in the rear end of the universe (Lowestoft) so I won't be home until about 7pm.

I'm starting to think I should do it whether he wants to or not. I passed up going to Canada for a year (twice!). It's my biggest regret. It just means leaving a job that I sort of enjoy and is well paid (for what I do)....

In other news, the AOC is off sick again today! Means I will actually get on with some work instead of being constantly interrupted and having to listen to her constant wittering on about feck all..

    Morning girths...

foxc I wish i'd done a season/I wish i'd spent more time at work... tough choice

Hard ride into work into the wind all the way, tired legs, but consoled myself with bacon/sausage/egg combo thus feeling much better ready for client visit.

The rest of the day will consist of running huge print job and pondering whether to order cheap but quite sexy carbon 29er frame from China or wait for gorgeous On One Lurcher "Delivery March" - probably means August then...
A berm? were you expecting one?

Go for it if you can afford it, you don't get many chances to do something like that and there are always other jobs. I walked out of a job that really wasn't bad to have time off but can't I do a season because of family commitments - still kicking myself I never did it while I could, but that's life!

Right, off to Bedgebury to get covered in mud...

Bit of a no brainer isn't it. Guess I'm just worried about what happens when I get back...I've gotten used to a certain standard of living and giving up my salary is gonna be hard, harder still will be having to give up horse riding and up to 3 snowboarding holidays a year because of the salary cut I'll take when I come back.... decisions decisions...
  • Is there no chance of you taking a sebatical from your work? Save up, 3 months off unpaid, back to work feeling refreshed and glad you've done it :)
I've contemplated it, but wouldn't know what to do with my time off. I want a plan first.

Being but a lowly administrator, we don't have the options for sabbaticals, plus you have to put together a business case as the time off has to be for your career...

    Exactly what MrF said!
  • Well then, phone battery is basically dead, i'm dead, and bike is covered in a nice layer of mud, and my forks need more air in them.

    Succesful ride.
  • Todays plans...

    Get through work.
    Make bangers and mash.
    Fit new fork spring.
    Fit new crankset.
    Beer.
  • Woke up around 10ish.
    Ate a Muller crunch corner
    Ate a scotch egg
    had some pain pills
    watched TT film again
sent email off to MBUK to see if I can bag me a new helmet or pair of shoes for my pain.

Had an early night last night, much needed but was still knackered. work is quiet for once this week, there's somewhat of an disgruntled mood about differences in pay.

In other news, we've just been told off as we're not dressed appropriately for an office but meh, who cares.

Ahhh - 2 laps of Bedgebury and a bit of an ar$e about in what's left of the freeride section (just some berms and dirt jumps). It was almost warm, bu**er all mud, the sun came out and I met a total of 6 people the time I was there. Bacon butty and coffee at the cafe on the second lap. Bl00dy great day

    Hungry now....

So Miss Foxc is contemplating a season eh!

It's funny really, having done 10 years of leaving the UK in October, returning in May, Raced, taught, guided off piste, Skied, boarded, telemarked, tons of multi day ski touring, off piste, masses of drinking, loads of French and Swiss friends - the only thing I miss really are my foreign friends. I miss the touring and the adrenalin of GS and slalom too but don't miss the general resort type stuff or the lifestyle at all. I love the Yorkshire and Lakes / Wales outdoors stuff.

Any help / advice I can give just ask.

I am indeed, it'll be more of a last ditch 'been wanting to do this for 5 years, this might be the last chance I get' one off, than something that'll happen every year. Contemplating getting my BASI1 & 2 while I'm at it, won't do me any harm after all.
Will drop you a line if I think of anything, thanks mate!

    Kisses
