Bike Bags

I am unable to store my bike in a garage/shed/hallway etc. The only possible solution I can find is a bike bag.
I plan to store my bike in the bag at home (weekend rider and Mrs won't let me have a bike rack in the lounge!) allowing me to easily transport it in my car to trails. I've seen a few good value bags but wonder, will I be able to store the frame with rear mech on, or will it need to be removed? I'll obviously store it very carefully and it's not going to go on an aircraft.
Thanks,

I must add I'm looking at the CRC bag with separate frame and wheel bags.0

you could probably get away with storing it in a bag with rear mech on. if you get an evoc bike bag you will be able to leave the mech on no problems..
depending on what car you have you may struggle to fit the bike bag in they are pretty big,,, then you have to build and dismantle the bike every time you arrive and before you leave the place your riding..
wheels have to come off bars have to come off pedal have to come off.. rear mech ????? it would be advisable to remove the discs to to prevent them getting damaged in transit and while stored..www.bearbackbiking.com

So where do you intend to store the bike when its in the bag - inside the house or outside?
Do you have an outside wall that you could put up a storage bracket, then hang the bike from the wall. You can then lock the bike to this.
Something like this..

I've got the CRC bag for a similar purpose; so far I haven't needed to take the mech off for storage, but the handlebars do need to come off and the seatpost dropped/removed to make it fit.
With regards to getting it in a car, I haven't tried with mine, however if the bike would fit normally without it's wheels I see no reason why it shouldn't as the top of the bag isn't re-enforced so it can be squashed to fit. What We Achieve In Life, Echoes In Eternity0
