Tyre quandry....

Guys,
I noticed last night that I had a cut in the surface of my rear tyre.
Managed to get home and back into the office on it, and the cut doesn't look like it's got any bigger and doesn't seem to have gone through the carcass.
I can't help thinking that it could go at any minute and that I should replace it. Popped into Evans at lunchtime and they want £38 for a Conti GP 4 Season!! I managed to find the same tyre online for £29.95, so could opt for that.
Question is, I like the Conti's, but are there any better commuting tyres out there for cheaper money?
Took a look at the Durano's and they seem similarly priced, but would have to buy two as I'd have to replace the front Conti.
Cheers,
FJ

Send the cut to me. My tyres have loads of cuts on them but they don't bother me - one more won't make any difference. None have glass in them though.....Faster than a tent.......0

In store? Thought that was only online.

I just bought new tyres (GP4000S's) and the cheapest place I could find was Ribble. Worth bearing in mind if you are looking for an Evans price comparator.0

Evans will only price match against certain on-line suppliers (there's a list on the website) and local shops.
As for a cut in an otherwise fine tyre super glue it. As per here http://bicycling.about.com/od/bikemaintenance

The website where I'd seen them for £29.95 is on their list.
Ordered some of that glue as well for extra measure!Little boy to Obama: "My Dad says that you read all our emails"

If you want quick, durable, light, and grippy in the wet these are the best I've found so far:

They're no race tyre, but I've had a good 2000ks out of them so far with no issues (yet!)0 -
4Seasons all the way. Got 3000 miles on mine without a hitch (knock on wood) with a 8mm tear/rip in em for 500. Dribbled some superglue in the tear and continued riding the tire.0
