Why Specialized used lower end components and reduced the price substantially for this year's bike??

    Which model?

Most manufacturers have ben forced to despec this year to keep prices sensible, their input prices have gone up by over 10%, we won't pay 10% more for the bike so they've had to despec, although as (for example) this years SLX rear mech is probably better than an XT 3-4 years ago, its a little acedemic really!
